Plugins are software that runs on servers and adds features to a server. You don't need to make client side changes like mods. There are thousands of plugins accessible on the internet, and it's almost impossible to find what you would like.
To install plugins, your server must be running Spigot or Paper. Both of them will accept plugins from the Bukkit and Spigot websites. If you're unsure of how to change your server version you can look up our tutorial on this here.
1. Login to your Apex Hosting Panel and select the server that you want to install the plugins on.
2. Select Plugin List on the left hand side of the panel.
3. On this page, you are able to select either Bukkit or Spigot as the source. The only difference is the results you get. Both sources of plugins should function on the server.
4. You can look up specific names for plugins or by category. Click on the plugin you wish to install after you've discovered it.
5. teamextrememc.org Now at the top of the page verify that there is a compatible version of your server version, e.g. You should make sure that Paper 1.16.5 is compatible with Paper 1.16.
6. Once you verify there is an appropriate version, you can select it in the Version dropdown menu. After that, click Install to the right! Check your server console to confirm that the process is completed.
7. After the process has been completed, restart your server to allow the plugin to load.
1. Download the plugin JAR file from its official source online.
2. Head to the FTP File Access tab on your panel and sign in.
3. Once you have registered, find and click on the folder for plugins.
4. Once you are inside the plugins folder, click upload to the left and drag in your jar file.
5. After the file has been transferred to 100% after which you can return to your main panel page.
6. Restart the server to allow the plugin to load.
Sometimes plugins may not load after restarting the server. You can check whether a plugin has been loaded by running /plugins inside the game. If it's green, it should be loaded. It may not be in the list, or it may not be red. Check that the plugin is compatible with the version of your server. Also, look at the plugin's page to ensure it doesn't contain any dependency plugins. Sometimes, if you reboot the server and look at the console output, it will tell you the error it's giving you or what plugin it needs to work.
Plugin List Failure:
If you attempt to download a plugin by using the Plugin List in your control panel and it gives you errors such as "Error downloading plugin" This could indicate that there is an issue with the plugin's source website. If this occurs, we recommend you manually install the plugin to the server following the FTP part of this guide.
No plugins folder:
If you're trying to manually install plugins on the server but cannot find the plugins folder, then either your server does not accept plugins, or you have forgotten to restart after changing versions to Spigot or Paper. Verify that your server is compatible by examining the selected version in the Jar File dropdown on your panel. Some compatible versions include Spigot, Paper and Magma.
