We are aware that Minecraft version 1.8 (also known as the "Adventure Update") has been available via semi-official methods since the end of last week following an Mojang developer released the update with the studio's blessing. If you're not interested in going through the file, you can now download the patch through the Minecraft launcher, which was recently made available to all users.
This is not something we would have thought would cause any concern to our more tech-savvy file-hunting readers. If you are concerned about downloading an update for your game which could be a bestiality-related virus it is possible to download the update now without any worries.
